While attempting to find a video on youtube in which I could click a soccer ball and instead of hearing just the video audio I can hear Vuvuzelas (see article Youtube Sparks Revolt with New Vuvuzelas Button), I found this video:
So cute! And even cute if you are listening to the incessant buzzing of Vuvuzelas…
Kia has done some rather strange ads featuring hamsters. I am not sure how this helps to sell their cars but I think the hamsters are funny:
Here is an older Kia commercial with hamsters:
While watching Inside Edition I saw a story about a man who was exploring canyons and found an abandoned puppy very thin and close to death. He was determined not to leave the animal to die, so he gave it food, water, and a blanket and went to get the proper equipment to lift the dog out of the very deep canyon. He returned the next day, found the puppy again, and got him safely out of the canyon. He is now on the road to recovery and is putting on weight, but the man who rescued him cannot keep him. The puppy – nicknamed Puppy- now has his own facebook page to help provide updates on him and his search for a new home.
The whole story is available at Inside Edition: Abandoned Puppy Rescued in a Canyon.
Here is a link to Puppy’s facebook: Puppy.
To honor the long holiday weekend I figured that I would post some cute animal videos, enjoy!

I have an earlier post on my blog about real life furbys, actually Pygmy Tarsiers, and I thought I would post a bit more information about them with links.
Pygmy Tarsiers were considered to be extinct, but were recently rediscovered in 2008. They are nocturnal primates which are native to Indonesia, living in the rain forest. A story explaining a bit more about them is posted on Reuters called Tiny, Long Lost Primate Rediscovered in Indonesia.
The University of Michigan Meuseum of Zoology has an entry about these guys explaining their habitat, physical features, and more at Tarsius Pumilius: Pygmy Tarsier.

Have you ever wondered what kind of bird Big Bird is?
I had never really considered it until I happened across a video today that is a hilarious explanation from Mike Dickison, a zoologist.
He gave a presentation which features his studies of flightless birds and what he believes could be Bid Bird utilizing science and humor to create something I found very entertaining.
I wish I could share the video on here directly, but I do not know how, so please visit What, if anything, is Big Bird? to see the video and learn more about Mr. Dickison.
Could he be part Emu?
Watch the video to find out!
Avatar comes out this week, and I for one am very excited to see it.
Previews have shown us what Appa (the giant flying bison) is going to look like, as well as Momo (the flying monkey).
Here is a basic look at the movie and Appa:
This one features a good look at Appa’s face:
