Cute April Fools Day Jokes

I encountered two cute jokes yesterday, it is often difficult to find something cute on April Fools Day.

1. Google Wave

Google Wave announced that it would now be doing notifications with real people to let you know when ever you get a wave. Google Wave itself is one of Google’s products where you can collaborate with other people in real time – editing the same documents and watching while other people are typing.

I joined Wave a while ago, but never set up notifications. So I had waves I never knew about… but I set up email notifications, which they have always had, but it would be fun to have a real person tell me I have a wave.

Here is a video demonstrating the concept:

The cute part:

You may be wondering how any of this is cute? Well, the cute option comes when you were allowed to pick who delivered your wave notification:

Check out that cute puppy!

2. Pokemon Kart Wii Trailer

This is a very well made trailer for a game that does not exist, but still cute to see Pikachu!

Marley & Me: The Terrible 2s

Marley & Me is an awesome story for dog lovers. I read the book  and I saw the movie. I loved them both and I cried for both. It also makes me think twice about getting a lab, but any dog can be a bit of a problem without training!

The book:

The movie:

I just heard today that there is going to be a direct to DVD and Blue-ray prequel called Marley & Me: The Terrible 2s. You can see the preview on newly released DVDs like Alvin and the Chipmonks: The Squeakquel and Fantastic Mr. Fox. I know nothing of the story line, but it seems it will focus on the time when Marley was a mischievous puppy.

Here is a preview, it is not the best quality:

If you visit the official movie page, marleyandmemovie.com, it only has the preview for the first movie and Marley licking the screen.

Lastly, here is a video of an interview with the dog who played Marley in the movie, Jonah:

Update:

I have found information on IMDB about Marley and Me: The Puppy Years – with a subtitle that says “also known as Marley and Me the Terrible 2s”. Marley and Me: The Puppy Years has a release date of June 1, 2011. There is not much more information than this listed. To check out it out, visit imdb.com.

Update 2: Marley and Me the Puppy Years comes out this week on Tuesday, 1/3/2010. Best Buy is advertising the blueray (or so the ad seems to show) for $7.99.

Llama Face!

So I read Twilight, because everyone was doing it, and I hated it! Thus I have never seen the movies. But, when I found this today on tumbler.com, from STUFF I LIKE. and you might too,  I had to post it right away.

I apologize in advance to all Twilight lovers, but this picture made me laugh really hard:

I think the resemblance is hilarious!

Edit: From the response I have gotten to this post I guess I have to clarify some things.

I apologize, given current pop culture I thought what I was referring to and who was pictured were obvious. I refrained from naming him in the first place because my purpose was not to draw specifically Twilight fans to this blog and then get derogatory comments, but I got derogatory comments anyways for “forgetting my readers.” This was not my goal as I thought Twilight was something people knew about, or at least would find the guys resemblance to the llama funny.

Twilight is a book series, by Stephanie Meyer, that is incredibly popular at the moment about vampires and werewolves. It was recently made into rather poor movies, and this is a a picture of a llama next to one of the  main actors of the film. His character’s name is Jacob Black (who is one of the werewolves), the actor’s name is Taylor Lautner.

So again, I apologize for any misunderstandings and I never meant to upset my readers or confuse them.

Legend of the Guardians

I just saw a trailer for a new movie that I really want to see, Legend of the Guardians:

All I can say is that owls are adorable, and owls wearing armor is really cool!

This movie is an adaptation of the children’s book series Guardians of Ga’Hoole by Kathryn Lasky, following the story from the first three books The Capture, The Journey, and The Rescue. There are currently 15 books in the series, with a plan for 25 books in the series. The story follows barn owls who live in peace until they are threatened by a danger that could destroy their home and what the owls do in an attempt to protect their home. The film is directed by Zack Snyder, and is scheduled to be out September 24, 2010.

Here is the cover of the first book:

USA Today featured pictures from the movie:

Noctus, the father of the main character Soren, voiced by Hugo Weaving:

Here are Eglantine, left, Soren, center, and Kludd, right.

Here is Barran, voiced by Deborra-Lee Furness, who is queen of the great tree:

These pictures and the trailer look very interesting and I am excited to see this movie!

For those fans of the book, you can visit Scholastic.com to find more out about the books, learn about owls, and print out different activities related to the books.

Horses – The Story of Equus

Hello again! Sorry for my lack of posts this past week but I have been helping out my mom who just had surgery, so I did not have a lot of time to get online.

Today I have for you Horses – The Story of Equus, which was on the IMAX and will soon be available on DVD. I never got to see this when it was in the theatre back in 2002, but I look forward to being able to see it!

The movie features the story of three different horses which were born on the same night but live extraordinarily different lives, the racer, the rascal, and the run away. The movie is only around 40 minutes long, but reviews say it has good visuals and a nice story.

For some Monday fun:

If you would like to play fun horse games online (or know of a little girl who would), take a look at Funhorsegames. You can play games, build and color horses, and just have fun.

Here is an example of what you can make with the Narnia Horse Builder:
