138th Westminster Kennel Club Dog Show

You can watch the first half of the 138th Westminster Kennel Club Dog Show tonight, 2/10, at 8/7C on CNBC!

This half of the show airs the judging of the hound, toy, non-sporting and herding groups. The judging of all breeds is live streamed all day on westminsterkennelclub.org and the official app which you can find in your device’s appropriate app store.

The second half of the show is aired on USA tomorrow night, 2/11, at 8/7C which includes sporting, working, and terrier groups along with best in show!

Here are some photos of dogs getting ready today:

I love how laid back and pampered this poodle looks, as if there could be nothing better than the show life:

The grooming preparations are very intensive for breeds such this Maltese named Jewels. Here expression might be a bit less enthusiastic than the above poodle:

These dogs are groomed so much that I feel some people get unrealistic expectations of how their pure breed pet should look. I mean, this boxer is having its ears shaved:

I never knew you had to do something like that for boxers. Do you go to these lengths to groom your pure breed (non show) dogs?

This year in addition to the dog show there was an agility competition. The first Westminster Masters Agility Championship took place on Saturday, and was open to not only pure bred but also mixed and half breed dogs.

The winner was Kelso, a 7 year old Border Collie:

The winner of the Best All American (mixed breed) dog was Roo! a 6 and a half year old husky mix:

In any event, these beautiful dogs will be on show tonight and tomorrow. Don’t forget to tune in!
